The contracts explained
- MOP: the Meter Operator installs, maintains and certifies the meter and its communications.
- DC/DA: the Data Collector retrieves your half hourly reads and the Data Aggregator processes them for settlement, which is what your supplier bills from.
- These are separate contracts from your supply contract, often overlooked at renewal, and often overpriced when left to roll.
What we do
- Benchmark and place MOP and DC/DA contracts for each site.
- Arrange new meters, upgrades and site works through our metering partners.
- Provide data platforms that show consumption by site, half hour by half hour.
- Use the data to spot waste, validate bills and shape your procurement strategy.
Data is where savings hide
Half hourly data shows base load out of hours, peaks that drive capacity charges, and sites that behave differently from the rest. It is the starting point for almost every saving we find.
Common questions
Do I have to have a MOP contract?
Every half hourly supplied site needs a Meter Operator and a Data Collector and Aggregator. If you have not appointed them, your supplier will have, often at a higher cost.
Can I change my MOP or DC/DA?
Yes. These are separate contracts from your supply and can be re-tendered independently.
What is half hourly data used for?
Billing, capacity management, spotting waste out of hours, and building a procurement strategy that fits how you actually use energy.
Unsure what metering contracts you have?
Send us a bill and we will identify your MOP and DC/DA arrangements and whether they are competitive.
